Fun Facts: This is a Boro style work clothes from the Aomori Prefecture. It was the "sunny garment" used by businesses in Aomori during the Meiji Period 1900s. The indigo dyed cotton was originally used for a table cover. It was then patched on by the sashiko technique to make this wonderful jacket. The Aizen shibori is called Asamai-shibori. Asami -Shibori was produced in Akita Prefecture. It was made from the Edo to Taisho Era and has been revived in modern times.
