Age  Edo - Meiji Era (the Late 1800s to Early 1900s)

Region Found: Northern Japan

Material Used: Mix of Hemp & cotton fabric.  Indigo dyed and Sakiori woven fabric

Interesting Fact: This is a rare Japanese Sakiori farmer jacket from the Edo-Meiji Era (the Late 1800s - Early 1900s).  It is done by indigo dyed and exceptional quantity handwoven Kogin style Sakiori weaving.  The materials used are a mix of hemp & cotton fabric and done by homespun & hand-loomed.   This was originally bought by a theatre company for a set.  Sakiori is a Japanese rag weaving style which uses recycle old fabric, remnants & threads.

Approx size when lay down flat:
armpit to armpit: 25inches
collar to bottom length: 49 inches

Condition: It is heavyweight, there is some damage due to its age like holes and stains.
