This is a rare Japanese fireman's jacket from the Edo - Meiji Era roughly between 1860-1910s. It is found in the Nigata, Nagaoka region of Japan. Indigo dyed and also reversible, so you can wear it inside out as well. Done by sashiko stitch and also Tsutsugaki hand-drawing in the inside. This is a one-of-a-kind design.
Approx Size when lay down flat:
armpit to armpit: 23 inches
collar to bottom length: 36 inches
Condition: overall good antique condition, colour faded due to its age. There is some frayed edge of the fabric.
